Silk Road Sound Academy – Lesson Policies & Terms of Service

(Effective November 2025)

  1. Lesson Format & Packages All private lessons are sold as either:

    • 4-Week Fixed Package (one lesson per week for four consecutive weeks)

    • Monthly Subscription (four lessons per month, automatically renews every 30 days) Group classes and workshops may have separate policies.

  2. Payment & Billing

    • Payment is due in full at the time of booking.

    • Monthly subscriptions are charged automatically on the same date each month via the credit card on file.

    • We accept all major credit/debit cards through Acuity Scheduling (powered by Stripe or Square).

    • No cash or checks are accepted for online bookings.

  3. Scheduling

    • Lessons are 30, 45, or 60 minutes as selected during booking.

    • Students choose their regular weekly time slot when they first book. That time is reserved for them for the duration of the package/subscription.

    • Students must book or confirm their recurring time slot within Acuity Scheduling.

  4. Cancellations & Make-ups (the part that protects you most)

    • 24-hour notice is required to cancel or reschedule a lesson.

    • Lessons cancelled with ≥24 hours notice can be rescheduled within the same billing month (subject to teacher availability).

    • Lessons cancelled with <24 hours notice or no-shows are forfeited and will not be refunded or rescheduled.

    • Monthly subscription students receive four lessons per billing cycle regardless of cancellations — no extra make-ups carry over to the next month.

    • All cancelations/rescheduling are done online by the student.

  5. Subscription Pauses & Cancellation

    • You may pause your monthly subscription for up to 2 months per year (perfect for summer travel) with at least 7 days written notice.

    • To cancel a subscription entirely, you must give 14 days written notice by emailing info@silkroadsoundacademy.com. Billing stops at the end of the current paid month.

    • 4-week packages are non-refundable once the first lesson has occurred.

  6. Refunds

    • 4-week packages: Full refund (minus any lessons already taken) if requested before the first lesson. No refunds after the first lesson.

    • Monthly subscriptions: No pro-rated refunds for early cancellation within a billing month.

    • Trial lessons are completely free and non-refundable.

  7. Teacher Substitution In rare cases (illness, travel, etc.), we reserve the right to provide a qualified substitute teacher or to reschedule the lesson.

  8. Holidays & Studio Closures The academy is closed on major national holidays and for approximately one week in late December. Subscription students are not charged for weeks we are officially closed (you will see the credit on your invoice).

  9. Late Policy Lessons start on time. If a student arrives late, the lesson ends at the scheduled time — no extra time is added.

  10. Photo/Video Release From time to time we photograph or record lessons/recitals for marketing (social media, website). By enrolling, you grant permission unless you notify us in writing that you opt out.

  11. Conduct & Termination We reserve the right to terminate lessons without refund for repeated no-shows, abusive behavior, or non-payment.

  12. Changes to Policy We may update these terms with 30 days notice posted on this page.

By completing your booking and payment, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these Lesson Policies.
